Bridgestone Europe Names New CEO and President
On March 30, the role of CEO and president of Bridgestone Europe will be handed over to Makio Ohashi. The 30-year Bridgestone veteran succeeds Toro Tsuda, who currently holds the position of chairman, CEO and President of Bridgestone Europe. Upon his return to Japan, Tsuda will take on the position of vice president and senior officer of Bridgestone Corporation.
Ohashi joined Bridgestone in 1979. After five years in the Tokyo office he began a period of overseas responsibilities which included Middle East, Asia, North America, and Oceania, where he was chairman and CEO of Bridgestone Australia Ltd. His most recent position was director of the company’s Specialty Tyre Business Division, based in Tokyo. Ohashi has served in this capacity since October 2008.
