Autosport/Aftermarket Show
Autosport International, billed as Europe’s largest motorsport trade show, celebrated its 20th anniversary at the Birmingham NEC between January 14 and 17. The show director for organiser Haymarket Exhibitions, Ian France, notes that “Autosport International has played a pivotal role in the motorsport industry for many years.” Tyres & Accessories was once again there, and in February brings you coverage of the event and many key exhibitors.
Life After ‘Retyrement’
These days it is rare for pensioned off end of life tyres to be simply cast into landfill. Legislative requirements, along with growing environmental awareness, has led to European tyre recycling and recovery rates growing to more than 95 per cent. According to the ETRMA, the number of old tyres receiving ecological treatment has increased by an average of four per cent per annum since 1994. And if your interest lies in the uses tyres are put to following their retirement from on-vehicle use, February is definitely your month – in this issue, Tyres & Accessories examines the now firmly established but still growing tyre collection, recycling and disposal industries.
