Strathclyde Tyres Wins Exel Scotland Contracts Supported by Cameo
Tyre supplier Strathclyde Tyres has won the West Dunbartonshire and South Lanarkshire local authority Exel contracts. Strathclyde reports that the use of Cam Systems’ Cameo software platform has assisted Strathclyde’s account management and reporting, allowing it to develop its communication with customers. Cameo provides a foundation line-of-business application suite for tyre wholesalers and retailers. Debbie Tracey, manager at Strathclyde Tyres says: “Our partnership with Cam Systems has enabled us to improve the way in which we manage accounts and streamline our reporting process. This has allowed us to improve the way we communicate with our clients and, in turn, make us more marketable. We selected Cam as we had been looking for a software package which is specifically built to meet our needs and have been impressed with the increased visibility it has given our company.” Cameo reportedly helped to increase visibility across its two divisions – private and commercial – provided by Cam Systems, the leading software solutions provider to the independent tyre industry.
Fleet management contracts with local authorities are a growing and lucrative source of income for the firm’s commercial business. Strathclyde Tyres is currently servicing the four year contract awarded in September 2008 for North Lanarkshire Council, supplying tyres and undertaking services for every council vehicle. The firm’s Kilmarnock depot holds similar contracts with five-year terms to three councils in the region: North Ayrshire, South Ayrshire, and East Ayrshire. Its commercial division accounts for the majority of the firm’s £5 million turnover, boasting fleet management contracts with a range of clients, including road hauliers, bus companies, plant hire firms and, increasingly, local authorities.
Strathclyde Tyres provides a wide range of services for vehicle owners from its three depots in Johnstone, Coatbridge and Kilmarnock. Its “fast-fit” centres are popular with car owners across the west of Scotland, boosted by its status as a member of the Hi-Q network of garages around the UK. In addition to the usual car servicing and repairs offering, its retail arm also provides MOT testing, a 24-hour breakdown service and laser wheel alignment.
Mike Allen, managing director of Cam Systems, adds: “Using our software provisions, Strathclyde has been able to analyse which products are proving most profitable, bringing valuable cost savings into the organisation. Cameo has allowed Strathclyde to integrate customer management services with full product, stock and pricing visibility into one dynamic unified system that manages all its enquiry needs.”
Cameo is used extensively nationwide with over 2,000 users successfully servicing a diverse range of tyre businesses. The demand for fast, accurate information that promotes user confidence and enhanced customer service has become the hallmark of the Cameo application suite. Covering point-of-sale, customer management, products and pricing, stock control, depot management, through to integrated ledgers and real-time reporting and management views, Cameo is a solution that is scalable to all business requirements in the tyre domain.
