Pirelli Announces Guaranteed Casing Allowance on New 01 Series Tyres

Pirelli has announced that, for a limited period, it will offer selected fleets a guaranteed casing allowance. The move is designed to demonstrate that Pirelli’s end-user partners can rely on the company’s truck tyres being guaranteed against any manufacturing defects from cradle to grave and then onto a second retreaded life. According to the company, “Pirelli’s confidence in the sheer quality of its new R01 Regional product lines and the ST01 Trailer fitment will ultimately be translated into extremely high retread casing acceptability and then prolonged second lives.”

Graham Hutchison, Pirelli UK truck director, characterised the guaranteed casing offer as a clear statement of the quality of the new R01 Regional and Trailer products: “Pirelli launched the R01 regional product lines in Bologna last year to extremely positive press and customer comments. Almost one year further on and we can see the true quality of the casing and therefore have total confidence in extremely high acceptance rates when returned for processing.”

Explaining more about the thinking behind the move, an official statement added: “By manufacturing a tyre with a robust and quality casing in the first place, future retreading and the second life concept is a natural progression. Pirelli simply felt fleets should be confident that when they buy a Pirelli truck tyre they are making an investment in quality and value.”

R01 Regional products are said to be available today in “key market sizes,” with the ST01 currently in 385/65R22.5. Interested parties are invited to contact Pirelli for more information.
