Off-Road Tour Company Selects Cooper Discoverer STT tyres
All Terrain Tours, an off-road tour company (as the name suggests) has chosen Cooper’s Discoverer STT tyres for use in the Northern English countryside. Started earlier this year by Tony Newton and Mark Langley, All Terrain Tours allows owners of off-road vehicles to use them away from asphalt roads on legally accessible “green lanes”, with prices starting at around £45. Langley’s Land Rover Defender and Newton’s Land Rover Discovery will have the Cooper tyres fitted as they lead tours across some of England’s most remote and beautiful countryside. The company promotes safe and responsible use of four-wheel drive vehicles in the countryside, with routes available for most 4x4s.
“I’m delighted with the Discoverer STTs – they’re an absolutely tremendous tyre,” said Newton. “People rave about other manufacturers’ rubber but I’ve never rated them. One of our customers ran them and thought they were great so we tried them and thought the same. In terms of value for money they’re superb – you just can’t get better. All Terrain Tours has been more successful than we expected. We’ve been into green laning for years and saw there was a business angle that we could run and support our hobby, but the level of interest and the feedback from people has been fantastic.”
In 2008, Steve Burgess used STTs to drive all the way from his farm in Yorkshire to the east coast of Russia, while Spain’s Xavier Foj used Discoverer STTs on his way to second in class on the Dakar Rally last month.
