Indag Rubber Expanding Capacity to Meet Demand
Indag Rubber Ltd is India’s longest-established manufacturer of pre-cure tread rubber. The company has been engaged in the production of tread rubber and other retreading materials such as bonding gum, vulcanising solution and curing envelopes since 1982, and manufactures its pre-cure tread under the ‘Zoma’ brand name. Indag also produces un-vulcanised rubber strip gum, universal spray cement and envelopes.
The company reports that its R&D activities enable it to deliver its customers superior compounds that give higher mileage. The treads produced by Indag Rubber are certified to ISO 9001-2000 standards.
In order to increase both domestic and export sales, in October 2009 Indag Rubber’s Board of Directors approved plans to expand capacity at the company’s main manufacturing facility in Nalagarh, Himachal Pradesh state. After expansion, the plant’s capacity will increase to 1,500 tons of tread rubber per month. Further, the plant will now be able to supply 100 tons of bonding gum and 100 kilolitres of cement solution every month. The Board expresses its confidence that the increased capability will enable Indag to meet the growing demand it is experiencing.
