Goodyear Dunlop Appoints Two New Commercial Vehicle Managers
Goodyear Dunlop has announced two new appointments to their Commercial Vehicle business senior management team. Martin Dungworth joins the Birmingham-based company as Commercial Sales Manager and Marc Preedy is appointed as Customer Strategy Manager. These roles cover the UK and Ireland business where the company’s portfolio, including the Goodyear and Dunlop tyre brands, Next Tread retread range and TruckForce service network, are well-established in the truck fleet market.
Martin Dungworth joins from Daimler, where he was head of Sales for their FleetBoard service, which uses telematic and internet services to improve fleet efficiency. Prior to this role, he had 25 years sales management experience in the tyre industry with Michelin and Bandag. Dungworth’s role in Goodyear Dunlop will be to lead the sales team in growing the business around the company’s core Dunlop and Goodyear brands, including the recently launched Max Technology range of tyres that have been designed to increase mileage performance and enhance fuel efficiency.
Marc Preedy joins Goodyear Dunlop from GE Equipment Services. In his operational management roles at GE, Marc was a customer of Goodyear Dunlop and worked on projects such as the introduction of national account operations support and roadside breakdown team management. Preedy will lead Goodyear Dunlop’s strategy in driving long-term customer partnerships. This includes pricing, marketing and service network development, including driving the growth of the company’s TruckForce network – which the company says is the only 100 per cent dedicated nationwide truck tyre service network in the market.
Both roles will report to Nigel Sowerby, director, Commercial Vehicle and Off the Road tyres, who stated: “Our strategy is one of long term, successful growth in their truck tyre business. Our recent investment in the TruckForce service network, which was fully de-merged from the HiQ car service business in 2008, is evidence of our commitment to driving success through outstanding, dedicated service. Our experienced team will benefit from the perspective that Martin and Marc will bring from their previous leadership roles in companies that also have a strong customer service reputation.”
“Marc and Martin join Goodyear Dunlop at an exciting time. The combination of Max Technology, TruckForce and first class support in FleetOnlineSolutions and ActionLine makes a compelling ‘full service’ proposition for end-user customers,” added Nigel.
