Davian Enterprises Buys Wyko Tire Technology
At the beginning of January 2010 Davian Enterprises LLC, a newly founded company, acquired Wyko Tire Technology. Wyko Tire Technology had previously been owned by Eriks NV, a Dutch company, and is based in the Dudley, UK, with further manufacturing facilities located in Greenback, Tennessee. Terms of the purchase have not been released.
Wyko supplies specialised engineering equipment and tooling to the tyre industry. Davian Enterprises LLC also reportedly supplies equipment and manufacturing parts to the tyre industry through partnerships it has with suppliers based across Asia. According to Rubber World, Davian will continue to trade under the Wyko brand name and its products will continue to be “designed and manufactured incorporating all the established patented Wyko Technology.”
Rubbernews.com reported that Eriks N.V. will retain a financial interest in Davian Enterprises LLC. The trade journal reported that an Eriks director Bill Wilson will take on the role of non-executive chairman of Davian. Ian Smith, who retired from Wyko in 2007, is expected to return and serve as CEO, while P. David Jones, former senior vice president of Dunlop Tire Corp., is named as a director.
