Concerns About F1 Intermediate Tyre Wear Expressed by Test Drivers
Motorsport.com reports that tests at Jerez revealed some concern for the reported lack of longevity in wet and intermediate tyres. Finland's Turun Sanomat told Motorsport.com that between two and three seconds were being lost very soon after fitting the wet-weather tyres.
“At the end of ten laps it felt like I was driving on slicks in the rain,” Sauber’s Kamui Kobayashi told the website. Bridgestone responded that the wet and intermediate tyres have had no significant alterations from their 2009 counterparts, other than in terms of width, which is in line with the new slick tyres.
