Washington Tire Claims April Start Date for Factory Construction
Associated Press has brought details of plans afoot by Washington Tire Corporation to erect an 18-building factory for the production of off-road, truck and passenger car tyres. The company, who in past times was known as American Tire Corporation, will apparently commence work on this Ephrata, Washington State project in April 2010.
Local newspaper the Columbia Basin Herald reported on January 15 that Washington Tire is paying the Port of Ephrata US$979,000 for approximately 97 acres of land, on which the factory is to be built. Washington Tire’s Abraham Hengyucius informed the site will be developed in three phases, and when all three are complete it is hoped the facility will employ more than 2,000 people. The plant’s management is likely to come over from China when it opens, Hengyucius added.
