Pirelli to Sponsor & Service Red Bull Pro National MX Series
Pirelli UK is to take on a three-year sponsorship and full support partnership with the Red Bull Pro Nationals MX Series. The tyre maker will provide the series with a dedicated tyre supply and changing vehicle capable of meeting all riders’ competition requirements, and Pirelli staff will be present at every round to fit tyres and advise competitors on fitment, type and pressure. A wide range of Pirelli Scorpion MX tyres will be available to riders at “extremely competitive” supply and fitment prices. Pirelli also hopes to benefit from rider feedback, which it will utilise in the development of future products.
“We are extremely excited to be entering into this partnership with the Red Bull Pro National Championship, an extremely professional race series which caters for clubman to professional riders,” commented Steffen Baum, product and marketing manager at Pirelli. “We didn’t just want to sponsor, we need to be there at the meetings, with a full tyre service and getting feedback from riders on our products. This is a great opportunity and we look forward to meeting many riders over the year.”
MC Federation chairman Matt Bates added: “Having a tyre giant like Pirelli on board for the next three years just goes to show how far this series has come in one year. We’re delighted to be working with them on a long term project that will not only help see the Red Bull Pro Nationals grow in stature but also benefit our series riders with a great deal and service on tyres at the events. Down the years Pirelli have been right there at the sharp end in motocross, their track record and results tell you that and it’s great to have them back and so actively involved with motocross with us. They’re a globally recognisable brand and it’s good for everyone involved with the sport in the UK that they are investing into the sport in a way that gives something back to the riders. We’re looking forward to working together for the next three years on making UK motocross a better place to be.”
