Maxxis Reports Increased Web Traffic Following ’09 Upgrades, Advertising
In 2009 Maxxis significantly increased its online presence, adding to and improving the content on its corporate website and launching the Maxxis Babes website. Maxxis also saw the benefits from advertising on other websites, with links on Liverpool FC’s and Max Power’s websites drawing in traffic (amongst others). Managing director Derek McMartin has been impressed with an increase in traffic, commenting: “We are delighted that more and more people are actively seeking out the Maxxis brand online, whether they are consumers who want to know more about our products and where to buy them, or tyre retailers who are considering stocking Maxxis tyres.”
The latest review of web traffic suggests that people are using the sites for information and general updates in ever increasing numbers. Traffic has increased significantly since the Maxxis corporate website went live towards the end of August 2008, with visits up almost 170 per cent between 1 August and 31 December 2009 by comparison with the same period in 2008. Unique visitors increased by 181 per cent, while page views were up 127 per cent.
The vast majority of users mainly spent time researching the range or looking at specific products such as car, 4×4 or motorcycle tyres, identifying local stockists and catching up on the latest Maxxis news. Most of the page views emanated from the UK, yet statistics show that people from 153 countries visited the site throughout the year.
The review also indicated that Maxxis sponsorship on other sites was pulling in traffic, as visitors to www.liverpoolfc.tv, the official Isle of Man TT Races website, premier drift team Japspeed, Max Power magazine and Grouptyre – the exclusive UK distributor of the Maxxis PCR range – clicked links from these sites to access Maxxis information.
The Maxxis Babes website also posts some impressive statistics – an average of 7.8 pages of content were viewed during a typical visit, with the majority of users checking out the girls’ photo galleries and videos and accessing the free downloads.
Word, as ever on the web, is certainly spreading quickly, with visitors from 73 countries finding their way to www.maxxisbabes.com. Maxxis believes this figure will increase further as the Babes gear up for another season of major sporting action, including the BSB championship, where Maxxis is a key sponsor to the MSS Kawasaki team, the Maxxis ACU British Motocross Championship, the Maxxis British Drift Championship and many more events up and down the country. Details are on the Maxxis Babes Check site event planner.
McMartin added: “Our recent website review was most encouraging, as it showed that our sponsorship initiative with Liverpool FC, our partnerships with Team Japspeed and Max Power magazine and our investment in the Maxxis Babes are paying dividends in enabling us to reach a wider consumer audience.”
