Apollo’s Passenger Tyre ‘Grand Masters’ Meet in Beijing
Some 186 Apollo Tyres dealers assembled in Beijing on the first weekend of December for the tyre maker’s “Grand Master Business Partners” meeting. A total of 170 India based partners and 16 international dealers, all of whom exceeded their projected passenger car tyre sales targets over the last twelve months, attended a three-day meeting with company officials in the Chinese capital. Apollo’s strategy for the coming year was shared with the partners, including specific plans and products relating to the passenger tyre segment. The ‘Grand Masters’ were also invited to give their own specific feedback.
“Meets like this are extremely meaningful. It is an opportunity to ensure that each one of our plans is validated by our business partners,” commented Satish Sharma, chief of Apollo Tyres’ India Operations. “This creates trust and transparency and allows them to undertake better business projection. Beijing was unique, since for the first time, along with Partners from India, we also have 16 Partners from various countries across the world. The diversity of opinion that we have received here, sets Beijing apart from any such meet conducted earlier.”
“I have truly enjoyed working with this Apollo F1-like team and hearing their plans,” said Ireland’s Philip White. “This team has objectives to achieve, works under excellent leadership, and delivers with speed, aggression and teamwork.”
Apollo notes that obtaining ‘Grand Master’ status is no mean feat – of the 1,800 dealers selling Apollo’s passenger car tyres in India, less than ten per cent qualified.
