PCL Increases the Pressure with its MK4
PCL has sold its MK3 tyre inflator to tyre outlets, garages and petrol forecourts around the world. The company has now further developed this popular product and released the MK4, a high-pressure model for truck tyre inflation. Visually, the MK4 bears more than a passing resemblance to its smaller-numbered brother, yet in situations that call for pressure to be applied, the new inflator comes into its own – according to PCL, the MK4 can deliver up to 174 psi (12 bar) as opposed to the 138 psi (9.6 bar) the MK3 has at its disposal.
The Sheffield based company appears to have adhered to the principle of “if it isn’t broken, don’t try and fix it” when engineering the new inflator. As the company explains, building on the MK3 to create the MK4 has resulted in a gauge that not only answers the market need for a higher pressure inflator but also provides one which can withstand harsh tyre shop environments. Its aluminium die cast body and linear gauge, PCL comments, represents the best product on the market for both indoor and outdoor applications, even in extreme weather.
The new MK4, PCL is confident, is set to become the heavy-duty solution for providing safe, cost-effective and trouble-free high-pressure inflation with guaranteed accuracy. This in turn, the company notes, will give truck tyre users the benefits of extended tyre life, increased fuel economy and improved safety.
