Cooper Kenda China Plant Gains ISO 9001 Certification

The Cooper Kenda Tire joint venture factory in Kunshan, China has become the fourth Cooper Tire & Rubber facility to gain ISO 9001 certification. The plant’s ISO 9001:2008 quality management system certification follows last year’s certification of Cooper’s three US manufacturing facilities, Findlay, Ohio, Texarkana, Arkansas, and Tupelo, Mississippi.

“This latest certification demonstrates Cooper’s strict adherence to the highest quality standards, throughout the organisation, whether we’re operating in the US or in China,” said Cooper chairman, president and CEO Roy V. Armes. “Certification serves as a third-party confirmation of our ongoing commitment to quality and continuous improvement.”

Jointly owned by Cooper Tire and Kenda Rubber, the Cooper Kenda Tire facility is located in China’s Jiangsu Province, not far from Shanghai. The facility produces tyres for export for Cooper Tire.
