Yokohama Philippines Extends Help to Typhoon Victims
Yokohama Tire Philippines (YTPI) is lending a hand to the victims of the Mt. Arayat mudslide, which was brought about by Typhoon Ondoy. As part of the company’s relief operations, on October 2 YTPI employees gave each affected family at the Arayat, Pampanga evacuation area a set of equipment including a mat, mosquito net, blanket, pail and charcoal stove. Approximately 297 families, left homeless after the mudslide, received assistance from YTPI.
According to YTPI, company management sent representatives into the typhoon affected region immediately after learning about the devastation in order to survey the area and ascertain what assistance could be provided. YTPI identified an opportunity to give further assistance by providing victims with essential non-food items such as sleeping and cooking equipment.
Aside from this initiative, YTPI also donated 25 sacks of rice to Clark Development Corporation in response to their call to assist the victims of Typhoon Ondoy.
