Stapleton’s Reviews “Extremely Positive” Year
Stapleton’s says that, despite the current economic climate, sales have been “performing well” over the past twelve months, reaching levels similar to those in 2008, and that it feels well-placed to take advantage of the current growth in the replacement tyre market. That the wholesaler has seen its private and exclusive brands – which include Primewell, Matador, Prestivo and Nexen – growing is perhaps unsurprising due to current market conditions, though Stapleton’s is keen to show that the programmes available alongside these labels are to some extent also responsible for their rise. “All of these ranges are offered with attractive dealer support packages to reward valued loyalty,” the company states. It also stocks all the major names.
Stapleton’s also expanded further this year, opening a new 70,000 sq ft warehouse in Guildford. The move was inspired by both “growing customer demand” and the desire to “improve delivery times for people living in the South East.” The new premises holds up to 80,000 tyres covering 2,600 lines and deliveries are now operating up to twice daily. This takes the company stock holding to 700,000 tyres across nine warehouses.
The company’s membership programme allows buyers to receive preferential pricing, in-store marketing support and branded merchandise. Orders can be placed over the phone or via ProfitLink, the company’s online ordering service. Stapleton’s Trading Director, Steve Parker said, “The past year has been extremely positive for Stapleton’s and we are looking forward to continually developing the business.
“Improving customer service is at the heart of everything we do and the new warehouse has massively increased our stock levels and enabled us to provide a more efficient and faster delivery time as well as more flexibility for customers.”
Overall the company runs a fleet of vehicles from 9 locations, offering nationwide deliveries on a twice-a-day, same-day or next-day delivery basis, depending on location, and has increased the number of delivery routes across the country to further enhance its same-day and next day delivery options.
