Meyle to intensify UK sales activities
German vehicle spare parts manufacturer Wulf Gaertner Autoparts AG has reorganised its Meyle brand sales activities in the British aftermarket. In September the company launched its new UK subsidiary, Meyle UK Ltd. The local operation, headed by managing director David Ward, is responsible for the marketing of Meyle brand suspension and steering components, rubber-to-metal parts and brake system components. Meyle UK will, says the parent company, be able to “significantly improve supply capability of its complete range of 12,500 items to customers across UK,” including the 500 or so heavy duty parts that have been reengineered beyond their OE counterparts.
According to Wulf Gaertner Autoparts, the founding of a UK subsidiary will serve to consolidate its activities in the British market. The aim of Meyle UK is to raise the Meyle brand’s profile in repair shops and within the industry by further expanding market presence. “Owing to the large number of vehicles on the road the UK is a highly attractive market,” explains David Ward. “Our range of products covers the majority of car makes and models.
“The British market offers tremendous growth potential which we can best explore by setting up a local commercial and logistic hub,” Ward continues. “In this way our customers will benefit from immediate part availability, local contacts with excellent inside knowledge of the industry and also financial advantages thanks to invoices issued in pound sterling.”
The Meyle UK range includes replacement parts for passenger cars and vans, and the company’s particular product strengths are steering & suspension components and rubber-to-metal parts. Parts in the Meyle “HD” heavy duty range are similar to OEM designs, but have been reengineered to give a longer service life and improved load-bearing capabilities. “Meyle stands for premium quality engineered in Germany on which automotive technicians can safely rely,” Ward continues. “In particular, our range of HD products offers value-added solutions for a wide variety of vehicle makes and models. The four-year warranty protection offered on all HD parts for passenger cars and vans is also a strong selling point.”
