Kirkby Tyres Sees “Mid-Range” Growth
With a five acre site close to Liverpool’s John Lennon Airport in the UK and two warehouse facilities in Ireland, Kirkby Tyres and Wheels’ business is still growing in the aftermarket. The company says that, “we are finding that more and more customers are using mid-range brands such as Double Coin, which we are seeing strong demand for.” Kirkby offers a wide range of brands within this segment, such as Alliance, Malhotra, Protector and Petlas. The growth in the market for these brands has been such that the company has been able to employ an additional two sales people to cover East Anglia and North of England. The wholesaler is ISO 9001 accredited and can, in most areas, deliver products the next day.
Kirkby Tyres is the sole agent for the brands previously mentioned, but also acts as an approved agent for Petlas, Armour, Superking, Richstar and Belshina amongst others. It supplies wheels from LP Wheels, Jantsa and Mefro along with a full range of car, van and 4×4 tyres from Nankang, amongst many others.
For 50 years Kirkby Tyres have been the UK and Ireland’s sole agent for the extensive range of Alliance agricultural and OTR tyres. Alliance introduces “new sizes and tyres…all the time to reflect the changing markets,” according to Kirkby, exemplified by the new A550 radial tyre in 400/80 R24 (14.9R 24), designed specifically for backhoe loaders and industrial tractors, and the new radial Port tyre in 1600 R25 and 1800 R25.
Double Coin has been a brand with Kirkby for nearly 20 years. The brand has introduced 12 new sizes this year with more sizes planned, including its Radial OTR, fork lift, and skid steer tyres and high speed crane tyres, the REM8.
