Goodyear Enters World of Outlaws for Series Tyre Supply Deal
Goodyear will supply the tyres for the World Racing Group’s World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series in an agreement that will last more than one season, according to a press statement released by the Group. The agreement will begin at the 2010 Florida DIRTcar Nationals next February, with World of Outlaws competitors required – somewhat ironically by the Series’ rules – to fit Goodyear rubber to their rear wheels.
Justin Fantozzi, Goodyear’s marketing manager of global race tyres said, “Goodyear recognizes Sprint Car racing as one of the elite forms of motorsports. We have a strong history with the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series. Our tyres have carried drivers to 19 championships in the 30-year history of ‘The Greatest Show on Dirt.’ We look forward to building on that tradition in 2010.”
World Racing Group CEO, Brian Carter meanwhile stated, “Goodyear is making a significant investment in Sprint Car racing through this partnership with the World of Outlaws. Goodyear is committed to providing teams with world class tyres that will produce the best possible racing, while also adding major promotional support through various marketing initiatives.”
