Former BEN Head Parachuting For Charity
Former BEN chief executive Geoffrey Atkinson OBE and his wife Tina are preparing to skydive 15,000 feet on 17 October to raise money for the UK automotive industry charity he used to head up. Geoffrey and Tina, who, as Tina Steele, was formerly BEN’s fundraising director, have already raised almost £10,000 and are well on their way to their £15,000 target.
“People have really rallied behind us and we are really touched that our terrifying ordeal has motivated people to dig deep for our own industry charity,” commented Geoffrey. “However, there is still a long way to go and BEN really needs your help, so if you haven’t already emptied your pockets, please do so – it will be worth it just to see the look on my face as we go!”
“£10,000 is an amazing amount of money to have raised for BEN but Geoffrey is determined to make it to £15,000 and who are we to stand in his way?” added BEN director of fundraising and communications Charles Davis. “We have had a difficult year and having people like Geoffrey and Tina willing to conquer their demons to raise money for us is exceptional.”
