Firestone Ag Plant Employees Win Big

A group of 10 workers at Bridgestone America’s Firestone agricultural tyre plant in Des Moines are a bit happier today. The group cashed in on a winning ticket in the Iowa Powerball lottery last week, taking in a total of US$1 million.

The group calls itself the “Local 310 Ten,” because they’re members of USW Local 310, which represents production workers at the plant. They have been playing Powerball as a group for about five years, they said.

After taxes, each member of the group received $70,000. (Tire Review)
