Cam Signs Exclusive Distribution Agreement with EDP
Tyre business systems provider, Cam Systems, has signed an exclusive distribution agreement with EDP France and EDP UK for the UK tyre industry. The move is being seen as a significant step today in the company’s “business process optimisation strategy” and as a move towards RFID. The agreement covers all software and local support and installation services associated with EDP’s products, incorporating the company’s desk bound management platforms: Tyre parc; Fleet Check; and Fleet Check Lite.
Mike Allen, managing director of Cam Systems explained: “As service providers in the UK seek to increase productivity whilst also saving process costs, it became apparent that we needed to provide them with an option for a world class fleet inspection platform. The EDP software was designed in France, largely in conjunction with Michelin Europe, so its development credential is superb."
“Moreover, it is being rolled out throughout Europe, China, India, Malaysia and Turkey amongst other countries so this speaks volumes for the broadness of its application which we knew would ensure the diverse requirements for service providers in the UK tyre industry could be met.”
The EDP agreement sits very well within Cam’s Product and Innovation Roadmap. “In conjunction with its own development in e-Pen technology, the opportunity is available for UK service providers to create a true straight-through-process (STP) from vehicle inspection, to service and breakdown work, and finally through to billing – with online visibility of works completed in seconds between each transaction point.
“This will save time and administration and create important proof of work against contracts, which all ultimately means collecting cash more easily and quickly,” said Allen.
