A & A Tyres provide life-line to local school
A & A Tyres in Cardiff, part of First Stop network of tyre dealerships, has come to the rescue of a local school who was at risk of losing one of its life lines, a mini-bus due to the increasing cost of running the vehicle. As well as replacing all the tyres on the mini-bus A & A Tyres is funding all of its maintenance which includes servicing, general maintenance and safety checks every eight weeks. The company has also offered to look after the rest of the school’s fleet of vehicles for a significantly reduced rate. This has enabled the school to keep the vehicle and ensure they are all safe-guarded for the future.
Craig Williams, sales manager at A & A Tyres and whose son, Bailey Williams, attends the school, commented: “When A & A Tyres heard that The Hollies School was at risk of losing one of its mini-buses we knew we had to step in. Ron Austin and Russ Andrew, the owners of A & A Tyres, have been looking for ways to support my family since my son’s diagnosis with Lennox Gastaut Syndrome, a rare form of epilepsy which is very difficult to control, and this is their special way of helping him.
“We are delighted to have been able to help the school secure its fleet. As my son is a pupil there I know just how vital the vehicles are to the children. My son suffers regular seizures and I don’t know what we would do without the care and expertise provided by the school.”
Kay Hughes-Jones, business manager at The Hollies School, added: “The Hollies is a school for children with special educational needs and when we thought we would lose one of our buses we were very concerned. We rely on extra-curricular activities, such as swimming and music events, to support pupils and without specialised transport the children can’t get out and about.
“If it wasn’t for people like Craig, Ron and Russ at A & A Tyres we wouldn’t be able to offer the children as much as we do – we are very grateful and all the children are over the moon.”
