XPart Trebles Battery Range with New Applications
Parts distribution specialist XPart, a wholly owned subsidiary of Caterpillar Logistics Services UK Ltd, has increased its battery range 280 per cent, offering batteries for motorcycle, commercial vehicle, leisure and marine applications. The expansion of the “competitively priced range” will also include nearly 50 percent more car batteries, and will be available to order from all XPart wholesalers and AutoService centres, with same day delivery.
Steve Godrich, All-Makes manager at Xpart explains: “By expanding our range to include batteries for different types of application, we’re responding to an identified market need for a wider range of battery products. We often hear that garages located near motorcycle dealers or commercial vehicle workshops would like to be able to offer these businesses a range of high quality batteries. Our newly expanded range will allow them to do just that. We’re also working closely with our supplier to cut lead times and increase the frequency of deliveries to our wholesalers, which will in turn increase the availability of our batteries to independent garages.”
Platinum Batteries, states the company, is globally recognised for offering both proven reliability and value for money, while consistently incorporating the latest in battery technology. It has also extended the warranty on its high-end Prestige and Prestige Plus batteries, to three and four years respectively.
“Although batteries are under more stress all year round due to the extra power required to support the complex electronic gadgetry contained within the modern car, there is still a need to stock up on batteries for winter as motorists begin to rely more heavily on their batteries for lighting,” continues Godrich. “Platinum batteries offer a powerful and reliable option for motorists seeking a durable battery that can provide solid support while also effortlessly sustaining air conditioning systems, satellite navigation, MP3 players and other in-car entertainment systems.”
XPart has established a network of more than 250 XPart AutoService centres across the UK, providing franchise-quality repair at aftermarket rates. Its product range contains more than 40,000 parts for MG and Rover vehicles and 35,000 parts for all makes of vehicle. Since 2001, it has been responsible for the supply of genuine MG and Rover parts, and has recently signed an agreement with MG Motor UK to supply replacement parts for the new MG TF car.
