Vredestein Rolls Out 25-Series Winter Tyre in US

Vredestein has become the first tyre-maker to offer a 25-series winter tyre for people who want to drive their high-performance car in the winter time.

The company now offers its Wintrac xtreme in passenger and SUV sizes ranging up to 22 inches, 25-series aspect ratio, and W speed index. The special sizes have limited availability and will be distributed to a selected network. In total, the Wintrac xtreme is offered in 85 sizes with aspect ratios ranging from 25 to 65 series and diameters from 15 to 22 inches.

The launch of the new sizes is the kick-off for Vredestein’s “Premium Winter Styling” label, which will be used only for specific car-tyre combinations. Consumers driving cars and SUVs that are modified by premium car stylers – like Arden, ABT, Carlsson, Hartge, and TechArt, for example – would fit in this special segment, in addition to those driving a stylish high-performance car that want their car to look as good in the winter as it does in the summer, without having to downgrade to a smaller wheel, Vredestein said.

For the tyre, Vredestein partnered with Giugiaro Design. The tyre-maker’s technicians provided the technical design, while Giugiaro took care of the aesthetics, creating a visually attractive tyre with excellent performance, Vredestein said.

The tyre features siping that ensures maximum grip on snow and excellent handling performance; a tread compound that contributes to an improved grip on wet surfaces and provides for an optimal winter performance; and a central groove for water dispersal, the manufacturer said. (Tire Review)
