Transense Technologies to Supply Goodyear With Inspection Tools
Transense has entered into a supply agreement with Goodyear Dunlop Tyres UK for its tyre tread depth and pressure field inspection kit. According to the company, this represents “a significant order for Translogik”, the company's sales subsdiary. Goodyear will now deploy these kits as part of its new fleet management system. The system will provide its customer fleets with real-time mobile data capture and transmission capabilities. The announcement follows the success of the recent pilot programme, a full UK launch is scheduled to commence later this year, followed by a Europe wide deployment throughout 2010.
Stuart Budden, sales admin support manager, Goodyear said: “We’ve been piloting the Translogik mobile tyre inspection equipment in the UK and Europe for some time. Fleet operators are becoming increasingly aware of the benefits of good tyre management and we believe our new system provides a compelling new solution for this purpose.
Laren Yeomans, sales director, Translogik commented “We are delighted that Goodyear has chosen Translogik as its technology partner for this industry leading programme. This is a major Europe wide programme and demonstrates both the quality and market potential of our field inspection products.”
Earlier this month Transense signed an memorandum of understanding with Chinese tyremaker, Mesnac, which will see the company supply RFID chips.
