MNA Launches New LT/SUV Tyre

Michelin North America said its new Michelin LTX M/S2 tire for light trucks and SUVs offers significant improvements in safety, longevity and fuel efficiency compared to its predecessor, the LTX M/S.

The tyre, which will be available in 38 P-Metric and LT sizes ranging from 15- to 20-inch rim diameters, will carry a 70,000-mile limited warranty.

The LTX M/S2 offers several new features, including:
•    Interlocking siping that allows the tread blocks to lock together and preserve rigidity
•    8% more biting edges than the prior generation, resulting in better snow traction
•    Added silica for greater wet performance
•    Better lateral water evacuation
•    A design that greatly reduces vibrations and road noise
•    A unique contact patch shape that evenly distributes the forces of acceleration, braking and cornering
•    An extra steel belt that provides incredible durability and strength to handle loads up to 13,500 pounds
