Forged Qualifications of Tyre “Professionals” Uncovered
Fancy a promising career in the tyre world without the hassle of buckling down at your studies? Don’t fret, where there’s a will, there’s a way. But before you decide to embark on a “fake it till you make it” approach to your newly chosen profession, consider the tale of two hopeful tyre industry specialists in India.
The Indian Express reports that “two persons, including a girl” are under investigation after it came to light they applied for positions at Apollo Tyres using falsified qualifications. It is alleged that Rajesh Bharwad and Nutan Vaghela submitted bogus degrees from the M S University’s Faculty of Science when applying for jobs in 2006. Both applicants were successful and began their careers with Apollo Tyres that year, working in positions that reflected their graduate status.
Their world began to unravel three years later when it was discovered that Bharwad and Vaghela were not all they claimed to be – the duo had never progressed further than their twelfth grade school examinations, which they completed in 2003.
“We are investigating the case against accused Rajesh Bharwad and Nutan Vaghela,” commented Sayajigunj (Gujarat State) police inspector V D Chaudhary. “We met the science faculty dean as well, who told us about the forged signature of the then MSU Vice-Chancellor Manoj Soni.” According to police, university Registrar A V Gupta lodged a complaint against the accused on August 3. The complaint indicates that Apollo has already instigated a private enquiry against the pair.
“We are in the process of issuing arrest warrant against them,” added police inspector Chaudhary.
