Blears’ Tyres Slashed in Possible Expenses Outburst

Former communities secretary, Hazel Blears is in the market for two new tyres following an attack on her Citroën Xsara Picasso made while the minister was canvassing in her Salford constituency with her husband and two minders. While Blears dismissed the idea that the attack, which also left the car’s windscreen smashed, was related to her part in the expenses scandal earlier in the year, eye-witnesses claimed that the vandals targeted her car for precisely that reason. No comment was made as to who would be footing the bill for the replacement rubber.
