Ellerbrock Mixing Plant Doubles Output After Fire
Earlier this week Ellerbrock Reifenrunderneuerungs-Technologie GmbH puts its new North Hamburg (Henstedt-Ulzburg) mixing facility into operation. As a result of the six million euro investment, the plant has also taken on a completely new role within the Marangoni Group.
Ellerbrock MD Matthias Leppert told Tyres & Accessories that employees completely rebuilt the mixing plant following a fire in March last year, and are currently getting to grips with the intricacies of the new facility. One piece of equipment staff will be learning to use is the new Banbury automatic mixer installed there which has a chamber volume of 310 litres and intermeshing rotors. Such a facility is “unique in the retreading unique,” said Leppert.
Previously, Marangoni’s Ellerbrock mixing plant had been something of a bottleneck in the system. However, following the upgrade, the mixing department’s output has now reached around 1,000 tons per month, double what the previous factory was capable of, with fewer employees.
