Conti to Receive Kuwaiti Investment?
A Continental spokesperson refused to confirm inquiries about the talks allegedly held with the Kuwaiti Investment Authority (KIA), and merely commented that the company will continue to cultivate its contacts with potential investors. “We remain, after all, a publicly traded company,” the spokesperson commented. The company has recently held investor roadshows and claims to received “very positive” feedback from these. Currently Schaeffler owns 90 per cent of Continental, yet is burdened with a ten billion euro debt following its takeover. Continental itself is similarly weighed down following the takeover of the Siemens VDO unit two years’ earlier.
