Tyres & Accessories June 2009
Chain Reaction
One business area still enjoying much activity at present is the retail chain/buying group sector. HiQ’s recent announcement that it would invest more than £2 million in its national franchise programme during the course of this year – part of a scheme that will create 500 new jobs and boost the number of outlets to 275 by 2012 – is just one such example. Turn to our June issue for an authoritative overview of this important section of our industry.
Tyres for the Wheels of Industry
This industrial tyre sector is one that has been battered by recent economic conditions due to its level of dependence upon wider business conditions. It shouldn’t be forgotten, however, that every slump is followed by a recovery. In June Tyres & Accessories features its annual industrial tyres feature, in which we cover a segment of the market that is currently down – but definitely not out.
Keeping a Grip on Work and Leisure
Every day brings a wagonload of negative news about the state of the economy, debt, the finance sector and the inescapable recession. Anyone faced with such a barrage of stress needs to unwind once in a while and indulge in a smidgen of unadulterated fun. May we recommend a spot of quad biking? Naturally, regardless of whether you ride for work or leisure, to truly make the most of your ATV experience a suitable set of tyres is needed – and this is where we come into the picture. Next month we get into gear for our ATV tyre feature and we invite you to join us for the ride.
