Avon Tyres Announces New Website
Avon Tyres has announced the launch of its new website, which the company says is “designed to help car and motorcycle owners choose the perfect tyre.” The homepage features sidebars for its four and two wheel products, each allowing visitors to navigate to information on their desired products quickly. The site was designed, says Avon, in order to help users to browse through Avon’s entire product range quickly and easily, as well as locating their nearest dealer. It also possesses an educational facet, with a technical information section.
For motorcyclists, there is a dedicated ‘Rider’ section on the website, including safety information and a section dedicated to showing how riders can take care of their tyres. The section also contains a regular ‘Five Minutes with…’ feature, in which an Avon tyre product expert will be interviewed – as the title suggests – briefly. First up is design and product manager, Peter McNally, who fields the question “What do tyres mean to you?” with the dryly witty response, “More than they should.” Finally, the feature, ‘Where’s Avon Taken You?’ recounts epic journeys made on Avon tyres, such as Nigel Winter’s Land’s End to John O’Groats marathon. For the launch of the website there is also an interview with cruiser builder Arlen Ness.
Customers who want to know more about the “black art” of tyres can visit the site’s technical section, where Avon endeavours to explain everything from tyre construction to exactly what the numbers and letters on the sidewalls mean. There is also a section that explains tyre sizing and what speed and load ratings are.
The website can be found at www.avon-tyres.co.uk.
