Marangoni Launches RING24h Breakdown Service
According to Marangoni, research shows that each year 13 per cent of trucks and buses experience tyre problems. This is clearly a major issue for the road transport industry, not only in terms of related costs (service, vehicle and driver downtime, wages that still have to be paid, along with a less efficient usage of resources) but also due to the late delivery penalties imposed upon transport companies and the consequent potential loss of customers. When such unplanned stoppages occur abroad, the possibility of language barriers when contacting the breakdown service also exists.
To overcome such difficulties faced by fleets and to offer its retreaders a further competitive advantage, Marangoni Tread has announced the establishment of a roadside tyre service that aims to get coaches and trucks back on the road following tyre related problems. Its new RING24h service provides road transport fleets with a specialist European service that operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week through more than 6,000 service centres.
The service, says Marangoni, is very simple to use: whenever service is required in Europe – including Turkey – the phone number to call is always the same and the call centre will respond to the request in the driver’s own language. The charges are transparent and guaranteed, Marangoni adds, and to ensure the process runs as smoothly as possible the driver does not need to pay for the service/product received – the invoice is sent directly to the company. Registration in the program is free of charge for fleets that are regular customers of the Marangoni network of retreaders within Europe.
Marangoni also points out that the service provided by RING24h is charged by the supplier at a fixed and guaranteed price; set price lists clearly show the costs that will be charged to the fleet in each individual country, depending on the service required.
