Further UK Growth in the Pipeline, Says NDI
Since the recent appointment of Ian Smith as managing director, West Midlands based industrial tyre wholesaler NDI Tyre & Tube Supplies has begun a new chapter in the company’s growth within the UK market. Smith began in his new role on March 2 and brings with him more than two decades of industry experience, including 21 years at Pirelli.
NDI states that it will now concentrate more actively upon working closer with its parent company, Denmark’s Nordisk Dæk Import AS. This leading Scandinavian wholesaler of wheels and tyres, founded in 1970, is already respected throughout Europe as a leading player in the market. The company is based in the town of Brørup and boasts a sizeable presence in its home market.
From its headquarters in Coseley, NDI UK currently operates as a multi-brand specialist and offers a wide range of industrial tyres covering the majority of applications. The company notes that it holds a substantial amount of stock in its 1,700 square metre warehouse.
“NDI keep in stock all of the most popular industrial tyre brands and sizes for immediate distribution through nationwide logistic services,” says Ian Smith. “Any brand or sizes that cannot be sourced from our warehouse we import from NDI in Denmark therefore ensuring a prompt and efficient service throughout the UK covering the whole industrial tyre market.”
At this moment a size range between 15 and 30-inches is available but Smith is keen to point out that NDI plans to extend the range of industrial tyres it offers, particularly in the larger sizes, “This will be achieved by the promotion of selected brands along with those currently stocked,” he adds.
Benny Kristensen, founder and chairman of Nordisk Dæk Import concludes: “Up till now NDI has kept a low profile in the UK tyre market but now it is our intention to increase awareness of the vast amount of products and experience we can offer the UK market in industrial tyres.”
