UK Batteries Appoints Higson as Marketing Manager
UK Batteries, the company behind the Platinium brand of aftermarket batteries, has appointed Mark Higson as marketing manager. Higson joins UK Batteries from TMD Friction where he was marketing manager for over three years and was responsible for the development of the company’s various aftermarket brands.
The 26-year-old has taken over the role of UK Batteries’ marketing manager from James O’Connor who has moved into the company’s OE and key accounts department to play a leading role in the development of new and existing accounts.
With UK Batteries adding two new distribution sites to its network in as many months and winning the exclusive UK distribution rights to the Trojan brand of industrial batteries, Higson believes he is joining the Manchester-based company at an exciting time. “UK Batteries is clearly a company that is heading in the right direction and is making some impressive inroads in various product sectors so I’m delighted that I’ve been able to move to a successful, family-run business that gets things done and delivers on its promises.”
Neil Warren, UK Batteries’ marketing and communications director, welcomed Higson’s appointment. He said: “We are currently at a significant phase in our growth strategy and securing the services of someone like Mark will help UK Batteries to develop as an all-encompassing supplier and fully realise its potential in the marketplace.”
