Toyo Continues European Website Rollout With Greek Site
Toyo Tires’ rollout of European-language websites continues with the launch of its new Greek site, www.toyotire.gr, at the end of March. The decision to focus on this particular site was taken, says Toyo, as Greek visitors are amongst the most frequent users of the company’s European website despite the country’s relatively small population compared to other European nations and the fact this website is only available in English. The new Greek language site provides information on Toyo’s entire Greek market product, technology and company information plus the latest news.
The launch of the Greek website follows the January launch of an official Toyo Tires Spanish language website www.toyotire.es. The company reports that, after just three months, the number of visitors to the Spanish website is approaching the numbers for its European website. The next local language website to be introduced will be in France and is scheduled for an April launch.
These local language sites, once online, need to remain fresh and accurate. A custom developed content management system was required to link these sites to allow updating of all sites simultaneously. After a tendering process last year, Toyo Tire Europe says there was only one company able to fulfil all its needs; UK based firm Essential Logic was chosen to create the content management system. The effect of this Internet based programme is that Toyo can provide detailed information directly to a much wider group across Europe – around 50 per cent of its total website visitors can now read pages in their own language.
