Pirelli Top Rated in Tire Rack Surveys
Pirelli Tire North America reports landing the top spot in three out of four online consumer surveys performed in April. Tire Rack, one of the largest tyre dealers in the US, rated Pirelli’s Scorpion Ice & Snow, the 210 Sottozero, and Winter Carving tyres number one following an opt-in survey it conducted.
Consumers and customers of the online retailer are asked to contribute their opinions to a tyre survey that addresses twelve separate areas, including hydroplaning resistance, wet traction, cornering stability, dry traction, noise/comfort, steering response and other parameters such as light or heavy snow traction, ice traction and whether or not the customer would consider purchasing the tires again if given the opportunity. The survey data was tabulated from the responses of customers and website visitors, with performance traits rated on a scale from “0” to “10”, with “10” considered superior.
Scorpion Ice & Snow
The Pirelli Scorpion Ice & Snow was rated number one in the Studless Ice & Snow LT (Light Truck) category. The tyre took first place in the Hydroplaning Resistance category, Traction, Cornering Stability, Dry Traction, Steering Response, Ride Comfort, Noise Comfort and Tread Wear categories. The Scorpion Ice & Snow, notes Pirelli, is specifically designed to enhance the low temperature performance of fast, luxury SUVs.
210 Sottozero
The Pirelli Winter 210 Sottozero was rated number one in the Winter Passenger Category. The tyre took top honours in the Wet Hydroplaning Resistance, Wet Traction, Dry Traction, Dry Cornering Stability, Dry Traction and Ride Comfort categories, and tied for first place in the Noise Comfort category. According to Pirelli, the Winter 210 Sottozero utilises structural technology that places the company amongst the leaders in the ultra high performance low profile tyre segment. The tyre, Pirelli continues, exhibits high-speed stability, precise turn-in, and efficient grip under braking though the corners and under acceleration. The Winter Sottozero is also available in a run flat version, developed by Pirelli through its MIRS production technology.
Winter Carving
The Pirelli Winter Carving was top rated in the Studdable Winter Category. It placed first in the Wet Hydroplaning Resistance, Wet Traction, Ice Traction, Ride Comfort and Noise Comfort categories and finished 1st in Treadwear. The Winter Carving is a new studdable tyre that Pirelli says benefits from its rally experience and a prolonged testing program in Arctic conditions.
