MAM Aids IFA
MAM Software is helping members of the Independent Motor Factors Association (IFA) share valuable product knowledge through its Autocat+ electronic parts catalogue. This facility, which is currently being used by fourteen members, enables individual businesses to create product notes for any product or application and share them with other members through the catalogue.
The Autocat+ notes facility allows comments to be recorded against any part number, product group or application that appears in the catalogue. These are stored in a central database and, once approved, made available to all members within the group. The comments will appear automatically whenever the trigger part number, group or application is used.
“It’s the equivalent of scribbling in a paper catalogue – except much better and shares sharp end knowledge” explained Shaun Saddington, IFA member and Hereward Car & Truck Components’ Managing Director. “The Autocat+ knowledge sharing technology gives us the ability to share important information that may not be present in the manufacturers’ catalogues, such as fitting notes or alternatives. It allows us to instantly tap into the collective knowledge of fourteen businesses, giving us the ability to deliver a level of customer service that is unprecedented in the aftermarket.”
“The Autocat+ shared notes facility forms part of our strategic approach to help motor factors work more effectively and reduce product returns” explained Mike Jamieson, MAM Software’s Managing Director. “Businesses today realise that the collective knowledge of their employees is one of their most valuable assets. With Autocat+, this knowledge can be transformed into an overwhelming competitive advantage.”
