Marangoni Adds to ‘Marix Ecology’ 4×4 Retread Range
According to Marangoni, its Marix Ecology range has proven a popular choice for off-road drivers thanks to a series of products designed for extreme use, such as Lion and Puma. Both of these tyres feature substantial tread blocks, and for this reason are sought by those who use their 4×4 for work or in sporting competitions, and want a tyre with good grip and drainage capacity. The latest additions to the Marix 2008 range are the Cruise and Ghepard, the latter a high performance tyre for SUVs that is approved for high performance and available in 17 and 18-inch sizes. Marangoni says the Ghepard ensures comfort and maximum grip in all conditions thanks to the use of high performance compounds.
The Marix Ecology 4×4 range is intended to respond to the demands of people with such a wide variety of off-road requirements, and includes winter and studdable tyres. The range covers a wide spectrum of applications, from 95 per cent on-road to 90 per cent off-road.
Marangoni notes that, at a time when we all need to spend wisely, the choice of retreaded tyres offers particular value for off-roaders. The manufacturer points out that retreads today feature quality that is comparable to new tyres – quality that, as pertains to the Marix Ecology retreads, is TÜV certified and approved in compliance with the UNECE Regulation 108.
The entire Marix Ecology 4×4 range is M+S approved for winter use, and included the following products:
Lion (90 per cent off-road, 10 per cent on-road). The aggressive pattern makes it ideal for extreme off-roading, says Marangoni. The directional tread combines a double strip of centre lugs and wide grooves on the shoulders, for optimum traction on any ground. The Lion is available in Q and S speed ratings for approved speeds of up to 160 and 180 km/h).
Puma (80 per cent off-road, 20 per cent on-road). This is a tyre for pure off-roading, the manufacturer notes. Suitable for extreme terrain, featuring a unidirectional pattern with prominent blocks that guarantee excellent traction in all conditions. Available Speed ratings are Q, S, T (160, 180 and 190 km/h).
Ecoland (70 per cent off-road, 30 per cent on-road). The Ecoland is an off-road tyre suitable for use on difficult terrain, while at the same time ensuring good performance on the road. The tread profile, featuring an effective empty/full ratio, guarantees excellent floating and traction on sandy and muddy surfaces. Ideal also for snow-covered ground. It is available in Q. S and T speed ratings.
MPC (60 per cent off-road, 40 per cent on-road). A studdable off-road tyre, suitable for all types of use. The dense siping allows for good traction and grip on all surfaces. The longitudinal grooves assist the drainage of both water and snow, and bring an excellent level of driving comfort and very low noise. The special thermal compound offers maximum grip even in harsh temperatures. Speed ratings S and T (up to 180 and 190 km/h).
Ecoland Plus (50 per cent off-road, 50 per cent on-road). This is, says Marangoni, a 4×4 tyre suitable for all types of use. The tread pattern ensures excellent performance even on very wet and snow-covered ground, thanks to the undulated siping on the blocks that follow the transverse profile. Particularly high performance on the road. Speed ratings S and T (up to 180 and 190 km/h).
Cruise (10 per cent off-road, 90 per cent on road). This tyre is designed to deliver comfort, precision and stability in all driving situations. Speed ratings S, T and H (180, 190 and 210 km/h).
Ghepard (5 per cent off-road, 95 per cent on-road). A high performance tyre for SUVs. According to Marangoni, the Ghepard provides excellent comfort and maximum grip in all conditions, thanks to the use of high performance compounds. It features a symmetrical tread with five ribs, designed for high performance on bitumen roads (speed ratings H and V, approved up to 210 and 240 km/h), offering sure grip, comfortable and silent driving, and reduced fuel consumption.
