The sales team comprises of Tony McHugh (national sales manager), Alan Young (regional sales manager – North) and Colin Coyle-Jones (regional sales manager – South). All were appointed in the final quarter of last year. The subsidiary will be headed by Richard Lyons who will wear the UK truck tyre division general manager hat in addition to his European sales director – truck tyre responsibilities. GiTi will continue its ongoing relationship with HD Romney International/Compass Group, which will keep the successful role it has held for over 14 years as the company’s passenger car distribution partner. In this respect a number of new high-performance, SUV and 4×4 product releases are expected to be announced during the course of 2009. European head retires In an unrelated development, GiTi Tire Europe general manager, Wim Reijmerink has reportedly retired. Reijmerink was instrumental in founding the company’s European office and developing a link team between the European tyre trade and the Chinese manufacturing base. After roughly three years in the role Reijmerink has opted to take up pre-planned retirement options at the end of May, company officials confirmed. Following Reijmerink’s retirement the European business will be run by Richard Lyon, director of truck tyre sales and Michael Andre, director passenger car tyre sales. Both will report to Herve Richert, director marketing & sales (International), GITI Tire, Singapore.
