Bridgestone E-reporter Navarro to Commentate for 2009 F1 Season
Bridgestone has announced that Guillaume Navarro, winner of the 2008 Bridgestone e-reporter competition, will serve as a commentator at the be commentating on the FIA Formula One World Championship for RMC Sport radio (Radio Monte Carlo) for the full 2009 season. At the opening round of this year’s Formula One Season, held in Australia between 27-29 March, Navarro will officially be behind the microphone for the first time as part of the commentary team for RMC Sport Radio, France’s leading sport radio station.
It was just a year ago that Navarro sent in his entry for Bridgestone e-reporter, winning the chance to attend the Hungarian Grand Prix to report on the GP2 Series for Bridgestone, gaining firsthand experience of sports journalism. Navarro, studying in France at the time, was then invited to the Italian Grand Prix in Monza last September where he was announced as the overall winner of the 2008 contest.
“The Bridgestone e-reporter contest was a unique opportunity for me to demonstrate my journalistic skills to the motorsport media,” commented Navarro As well as being a great showcase for my work to be read and heard, e-reporter gave me the rare chance to network with key people from the paddocks. This title has enabled me to gain credibility and recognition in order to work within the exceptional environment of competition and passion that F1 has to offer.”
Bridgestone e-reporter, launched in 2003, has to date seen 34 e-reporter finalists report on the Bridgestone-supported GP2 Series. In 2009, 11 more pan-European finalists will have the chance to attend either a Formula One weekend to follow the GP2 Series, or a round of the FIM MotoGP World Championship.
