Apollo Tyres Enters Sri Lankan Market
Exports of Apollo Tyres’ products to Sri Lanka have begun following the beginning of a working partnership with local Mitsubishi distributor United Motors. According to the head of International Marketing at Apollo, Rajesh Kumar, the company hopes to export six containers of truck, bus and passenger car tyres to Sri Lanka every month.
Speaking with local media in Colombo during a visit to launch the new range, Kumar commented “we know well that customers whether in India, South Africa or in Europe are satisfied with the quality of products. We have acquired the Dunlop tyre company in South Africa and are looking globally to expand our business network. We are also looking at Europe as our domestic market.” He added that Apollo is now the world’s 17th largest tyre manufacturer, with a turnover of US$1.2 billion – a figure reached on the back of Apollo’s product quality.
