Michelin Tyres Highly Recommended in European Test
Michelin reports its Energy Saver and Primacy HP tyres recently walked away with a “highly recommendable” rating in testing by the German motorist’s association ADAC and its Austrian and Swiss counterparts. Both tyres, representing 85 per cent of the summer passenger car tyres produced by the Michelin Group, received this highest rating in a comparative evaluation of eighteen different 185/60 R 14 H tyres and nineteen 205/55 R 16 W tyres.
Performance was measured in five major areas: dry grip, wet grip, fuel consumption, longevity and comfort (including noise). Michelin notes that the overall three-star rating awarded to its Energy Saver and Primacy HP reflects the two tyres’ excellent performance in each of the categories. Amongst the tyres awarded three stars, the two Michelin tyres received the highest scores in terms of longevity and fuel efficiency, demonstrating their superiority in helping to reduce operating cost.
According to Michelin, the results of the ADAC tests reflect the validity its approach to technology, which consists of simultaneously improving different areas of tire performance. And therein lies, the tyre major believes, the strength of Michelin’s capacity for innovation – its ability to deliver the highest levels of energy efficiency, safety and longevity in a single tyre.
