First Stop Helps Motorists Get Tanked
A handful of lucky motorists across the UK were given something to smile about when they arrived at the petrol pumps this week. Representatives from Bridgestone’s First Stop network took to the roads to give motorists a helping hand by paying for their fuel at selected forecourts across the UK. This largesse had a purpose – to launch First Stop’s promotion to win a whole year’s worth of fuel. During February, March and April customers purchasing two or more Bridgestone or Firestone tyres are entered into a free prize draw.
As well as paying at the pumps, the First Stop teams are using this promotion as an opportunity to educate drivers about the link between tyre pressure and fuel economy. A Europe-wide study conducted by the FIA Foundation on behalf of Bridgestone Tyres shows that 38 per cent of drivers have under-inflated tyres, contributing an additional 12 million tonnes of CO2 into the environment through higher fuel consumption and hitting drivers hard in the pocket.
“The Free Fuel campaign is a great way of supporting our network of dealerships with a promotion that gives motorists a helping hand in this difficult financial climate,” commented First Stop’s Dan Woodward. “At the same time, we are advising drivers that ignoring their tyre pressure checks can have a financial impact in higher fuel bills – we really want to get this message through and thought our surprise visit to UK’s forecourts might just do the trick!”
