Yokohama Announces New Nissan OE Fitment
Yokohama has announced that the latest model to use its tyres as original equipment will be the new Nissan 370Z, the successor to the popular 350Z. The model will be fitted with the ADVAN Sport tyre and, having already gone on sale in the Japanese domestic market, will be rolled out globally during 2009.
Another car to use ADVAN tyres will be the Tesla Roadster, the world’s first electric sports car, to provide a combination of performance and safety on what Yokohama says is “one of the most innovative new vehicles for a long time.”
The 370Z picks up where the 350Z left off, the second model to resurrect the famous ‘Z’ brand, signifying Nissan’s sports vehicles. The 350Z boasted striking looks and combination of front engine, rear wheel-drive. The new offering features a 3.7-litre V6 engine, delivering 332bhp to the rear wheels.
Yokohama representatives say that, even with its sport suspension, the 370Z still requires exceptional tyres to ensure that the highest levels of grip, safety, performance and on-road comfort are maintained, and this has led to Nissan choosing the ADVAN Sport.
Sized 225/50R18 at the front and 245/45R18 at the rear, the Sport helps to give instant response to driver inputs, increased levels of both low and high speed grip and stability in the dry and the wet, along with higher levels of comfort and low road noise inside the vehicle.
Nissan is the latest manufacturer to choose Yokohama ADVAN tyres as original equipment on its vehicles, joining marques such as Porsche, Bentley and Audi.
