Soopa Toobs Aiming to Fill the Information Gap
Soopa Toobs, founded in May 1983 and based at its original home in Colliers End, near Ware in Hertfordshire, has restated its desire to “fill the information gap” it perceieves in the agricultural tyre market. The company holds a large range of stock, including tyres from American market leader Carlisle and European stalwart Trelle¬borg, alongside brands such as Bridgestone, Goodyear and Dunlop. In addition, Soopa Toobs says that it stocks the largest range of high-quality inner tubes for implements, tractors, ATVs and more. It is the UK’s exclusive dealer in Carlisle inner tubes, featuring many unusual size fitments.
With this range, Soopa Toobs believes it is well-placed to offer the right tyres for the many specialised jobs taken on by farmers, estate managers, landscapers and groundsmen. The broad range of specialist vehicles and implements at these people’s disposal – enabling them to carry out their work more quickly and more efficiently – are, especially in the current tough economic times, required to perform to the highest possible specification, meaning that these machines’ special wheels require not only an equally varied range of specialist tyres and inner tubes, but also the ability to select the right tool for the job. While a range of factors naturally affect the purchasing decision, the specialist advice Soopa Toobs is able to offer allows the user to choose wisely, rather than solely on the initial purchase price. Utility Vehicles (UTVs) use different tyres to All Terrain Vehicles (ATVs) and the correct choice of tyre is often as important as the original choice of machine. Soopa Toobs remembers that not too long ago the main choice for pulling anything along was between a tractor and a Land Rover, but the reality of today’s higher technology agricultural market means that a greater awareness of the requirements of vehicles like the John Deere Gator and the Kawasaki Mule is necessary.
Soopa Toobs exemplifies this in reference to compact utility tractors, which not only use regular R- I and R-4 tread designs; some need an R-3 turf pattern. However not all R-3s are really suitable for fine turf work, and not all R-3s are suitable for hard surface work. Construction and compound are as relevant as tread design. Specialist advice is always valuable, since – as the distributor is at pains to emphasise – cheapest is not always the best technical or economic solution, not that the most expensive tyre is automatically the best either.
Soopa Toobs says that it has built a reputation on an extensive range of agricultural inner tubes and continues to develop and expand the range to encompass the increasing use of radial and low-profile tyres as well as the more commonplace farm and implement tyre sizes. Close monitoring of market changes, reaction to customer feedback and close dialogue with the factories allows Soopa Toobs to assess and enhance continually their range of inner tubes to include new tyre sizes and developments with a very strong emphasis on the company’s tradition of offering quality products at a competitive price.
Appointed Speedways Tyre agent
Soopa Toobs is now the Speedways Tyre agent for the UK mainland. The distributor says that the company’s “quality range of agricultural and implement tyres, enhanced by construction and industrial tyres, bring this five decade old company to the UK with plans for range expansion throughout 2009.” Soopa Toobs prefers to develop long-term partnerships with their suppliers and has worked hard with Speedways to ensure that both companies are able to offer the UK market a quality range of tyres.
The firm is also the UK agent for the American manufacturer, Carlisle, a world leader in original equipment and aftermarket tyres, producing speciality agricultural, ATV and groundscare tyres and inner tubes for more than 90 years. Soopa Toobs states that Carlisle’s turfcare tyres are renowned for protecting the turf without sacrificing traction, durability or longevity, while the companies rugged ATV, SBS and UTV tyres serve farmers and off-road riders the world over, offering cut and impact resistance with market leading traction and ride. Soopa Toobs says that it is proud to be able to offer almost the entire range of Carlisle product from stock. The Carlisle inner tube range, available exclusively from Soopa Toobs, compliments the quality range of inner tubes held by the company to encompass the widest range of tyre sizes.
The company also boasts a long-running relationship with Trelleborg. The agricultural and light service tyres from Trelleborg are specified by numerous original equipment manufacturers, reinforcing the quality and cost-effectiveness of the tyre. Soopa Toobs have therefore increased their stock range of these tyres to ensure that the replacement market can be quickly and correctly supplied. The tough, commercial grade T-539 mower tyre gives good traction and possesses a deep tread with a thick casing to provide excellent puncture resistance, offering excellent value for money. Trelleborg industrial, agricultural, agro-industrial and implement tyres are all held in stock ready for rapid dispatch.
Soopa Toobs also stock tyres from Kings and Duro to satisfy the demand for a cheaper alternative. Implement, grasscare, ATV and UTV are all available from these two established brands, where service conditions demand a tyre with a lower initial cost, the Kings and Duro ranges have plenty to offer. Many other brands are held in stock for numerous applications and their freephone number, 0800 731 1720, ensures that it is easy to make a single call to source tyres or tubes, however unusual.
Comprehensive Soopa Toobs literature for 2009 is in preparation featuring tyres and tubes for everything from the smallest sackbarrow through ATV, farm, plant, implement, industrial, high-speed trailer and earthmover.
