Save Money, Save The Planet With RightPSI
A new product on show at SEMA was the patented RightPSI tyre pressure management system. RightPSI mounts quickly and easily to any tyre valve stem. Three different coloured tyre-pressure indicators provide a visual reference for tyre pressure status – orange for low pressure, black for correct pressure, and yellow for over-fill status.
The coloured indicator can be seen from up to 15 feet away, making it easy to effectively and consistently monitor tyre pressure. RightPSI is the only product of its kind that can be used as a tyre-pressure gauge, tyre-pressure fill point, and over-fill indicator simultaneously.
“Rising fuel costs and climate change have stimulated an increased awareness about the importance of maintaining proper tyre pressure”, said John Milanovich, President and founder of RightPSI. “Maintaining correct tyre pressure is one of the simplest and least expensive ways to conserve fuel, save money, and curb the environmental impact of emissions, while enhancing driving safety and extending tyre life.”
Maintaining proper tyre pressure raises fuel economy and reduces fuel consumption. Because transportation accounts for over 30 percent of US annual CO2 emissions, raising fuel economy is one of the most important things that can be done to slow climate change. On the economic side, it is estimated that for every 2psi under-inflation, a vehicle loses one per cent fuel efficiency, which wastes money. In addition, incorrectly-inflated tyres wear more quickly, shortening tyre life.
In the US, a national survey by the tyre industry showed 85 per cent of American drivers do not properly check tyre inflation pressures. The Rubber Manufacturers Association (RMA), which commissioned the survey, sponsored the seventh annual National Tyre Safety Week to help raise awareness about the importance of tyre care.
