Pirelli NA Extends Trackside Motorcycle Distribution
Pirelli Motorcycle Tire of North America has announced that Innovative Motorcycle Research – the company’s official distributor for road racing tyres in the North East USA – will expand its road race distribution region to the 21 states on the US East Coast. The company will work in partnership with four sub-vendors in the 2009 racing season.
Innovative handles a number of tracks itself, including BeaveRun Motorsports Complex, Daytona International Speedway, Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, Nelson Ledges Road Course, New Jersey Motorsports Park, and Summit Point Raceway.
Secondly, Method Moto, owned and operated by Rick Koger, provides Pirelli race tyre support at the Mid-Atlantic tracks (Barber Motorsports Park, Bluegrass Motorsports Club, Carolina Motorsports Park, High Rock Raceway, Nashville Superspeedway, Road Atlanta, Roebling Road, Talladega Grand Prix Raceway, and Virginia International Raceway).
Leon Eddins’ Competition Motorsports South is the sub-vendor for Homestead Miami Speedway, Jennings GP, and the all-new Palm Beach International Raceway (formerly Moroso Motorsports Park).
Finally, Boston Moto, owned by Dennis Colwell, is the Pirelli race tyre vendor at New Hampshire International Speedway.
Track day organizations authorized to vend Pirelli tyres at their events include Absolute Cycles, Boston Moto Track Days, Team Promotion, and Tony’s Track Days.
Richard Cronrath, Owner of Innovative Motorcycle Research said, “Innovative will also offer bike/tyre set-up clinics periodically at racetracks, to better support Pirelli’s customer base. The motorcycle racing community has expressed an interest in specific information associated with tyre selection and tyre usage, based on track and track conditions, as well as information on general bike set-up, so we plan on addressing those needs.”
